Norma Lavaun Zimmerly

Norma Lavaun Zimmerly, 82, died September 25, 2009 at 1:50 p.m. at her residence in Bluffton. She was born March 7, 1927 to Edgar and Mabel (Matter) Montgomery in Orange Township, Hancock County. She married Ronald K. Zimmerly on November 7, 1952 and he survives. Mrs. Zimmerly is also survived by a daughter, Diane (Tim) Masel, of Fostoria, Ohio, a granddaughter, Kerry (Bill) Razor, a grandson, Dale (Roberto) Masel, greatgrandchildren, Josh and Katie Razor and a sister, Carol Cheney, of Bluffton. She is preceded in death by brothers; Clair, Carl and James Montgomery.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Ebenezer Mennonite Church in Bluffton. Rev. Dick Potter and Rev. Charles Warren officiated. Visitation was 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral Home in Bluffton. Interment is in Thompson Cemetery in Bluffton. Memorial contributions may be made to Ebenezer Mennonite Church or Bridge Hospice.

Janet Barth

Janet Barth, 69, died September 25, 2009 at her residence in Lima, Ohio. She was born April 14, 1940 to Arthur and Mary (Muckerheide) Dahmann in Cincinnati, Ohio. She married Louis Barth Jr. on February 6, 1959 and he survives. She is also survived by sons; Michael (Juleen) Barth, of Phoenix, Arizona, James (Marilyn) Barth, of Springfield, Ohio, Joseph (Jennifer) Barth, of Phoenix, Arizona, Daniel (Ragan) Barth, of Phoenix, daughters; Mary Beth (Steve) Madlener, of Cincinnati, Katherine (George) Schramm, of Columbus Grove, Ohio, Sheri (Ty) Myers, of Holland, Ohio, twentytwo grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, David Barth, daughter, Tracy Ann Barth, one grandchild and one great-grandchild. Mrs. Barth was a homemaker; she enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, painting, reading and cooking. She was a member of St. Gerard’s Catholic Church in Lima, Ohio.

Funeral services were held Monday, September 28, 2009 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bluffton. Father John Stites officiated. Visitation was 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Gerard’s Catholic Church, American Cancer Society or St. Rita’s Hospice.

Harry David Anderson

Harry David Anderson, 82, formerly of Findlay, passed away September 17, 2009 in Villa Park, Illinois. He was born February 1, 1927 to Harry and Minnie (Schaublin) Anderson in Bluffton. He married Florice King in August 1946 and she survives in Villa Park, Illinois. Also surviving are his children: Jack (Judy) Anderson, Jill (John) Payne, Beth (Tim) Haaker and Jo Ellen (Greg) Cicero, twelve grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, a sister, Theda Lehman, and a brother, Willis Anderson. He was preceded in death by his son, Edward Anderson, and his parents.

Mr. Anderson graduated from Mt. Cory High School and served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. He drove a truck for Egner’s in Findlay, and retired from Atlas Powder Company where he worked in Ohio and the Midwest State for most of his life. He enjoyed life and the people around him; he will be greatly missed, but is in a better place now. Funeral services were held September 22, 2009 at Calvary United Methodist Church in Villa Park, Illinois. Interment is in Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery.

Orren Eugene Watkins

Orren Eugene Watkins, 73, died September 15, 2009 at Ambulatory Care Center in Glandorf, Ohio. Mr. Watkins was born April 23, 1936 to Otis and Opal (Harkness) Watkins in Pleasant Township, Hancock County. He married Esther “Sue” Winters on June 29, 1958 and she survives. He was a graduate of Cory-Rawson High School and retired from Harris Corp. in 1998. He was member of Pandora United Methodist Church and a long-time blood donor for the American Red Cross. He enjoyed photography, bike riding, camping and working in the woods. He is survived by his wife Esther “Sue” Watkins, sons; Jeffery E. (Pam) Watkins of Gilboa, Mark L. (Vicki) Watkins of Pandora, Randal S. (Susan) Watkins of Gilboa, Daniel R. (Chasity) Watkins of Findlay and ten grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Marcella (Clifton) Orr of Mt. Cory. He was preceded in death by his parents. A funeral service was held Friday, September 18, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral Home in Bluffton. The Rev. Mark Hollinger officiated. Visitation was Thursday, September 17th from 2-4 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment is in Harman Cemetery in Gilboa. Memorial contributions may be made to Pandora United Methodist Church or the American Red Cross.
